HUB CHURCH
Theologian Reinhold Niehbur once said, "The great Christian discoveries came not by the discovery of something that was not known before, but rather when someone takes radically something that was always there." From the very first pages of the Bible, we find a God whose desire is to have a people for Himself - a people that He reveals His glory to, and displays His glory through.
Even before the creation of Adam and Eve in the garden, or the formation of the twelve tribes of Israel and later the nation of Israel in the Old Testament; even before the community of New Testament Christ-followers, known as the Disciples or, the family of Christ-followers today, known as the church, we find a God, who being one God in three persons, is Himself the perfect family - a Trinity!
Moreover, we find that this trinitarian God has created us “in His image” (Genesis 1:27), and thereby to live as family with Him and each other.
At Hub, we envision a church that, “takes radically” living as an expression of God’s family together, and is; therefore, more about people than programs - more about something we are than something we attend - identity more than activity! We envision a church that, as a “hub” of freedom and family, brings both belonging and blessing to any and all throughout “The Hub.” That’s why we say, “we exist to share the freedom & family of Christ in Southie and throughout the Hub.”
